Thief 2: The Metal Age is the second game in the
Thief series, developed by Looking Glass Studios and published by Eidos
Interactive in 2000. The game uses the exact same engine as the first Thief
game, and therefore has the exact same shortcoming on modern hardware. These enhancements
will make the game run at any HD resolution on any Windows
OS, and significantly improve the visual quality. See screenshots below.

GAME INFO
Thief 2: The Metal Age is the second first-person stealth game
from Looking Glass Studios. Published and released by Eidos Interactive in the
year 2000, two years after the first Thief game. Just like the previous game,
Thief 2 is about a master thief by the name of Garrett. It even take place in
the same medieval steampunk inspired city as the first game. In this game the
player gets himself into a big conspiracy surrounding a religious sect. The game
mechanics are the same as in the first game as well. The player has to sneak
around in the shadows and make as little noise as possible to avoid detection.
Even though the game-play mechanics are the same in Thief 2, the game-play is
not exactly the same. Thief 2 is more about urban stealth, and less about
monsters and labyrinths. The game received positive reviews from both fans and
critics, but still Looking Glass Studios got into financial troubles and had to
close by the end of 2000.
Thief 2: The Metal Age is a first-person stealth game developed by Looking Glass
Studios and published by Eidos Interactive in 2000. The game is a sequel to the
critically acclaimed Thief: The Dark Project, and continues the story of the
master thief, Garrett, as he navigates a steampunk-inspired world of politics
and corruption.

One of the most notable features of Thief 2 is its emphasis on stealth gameplay.
Players take on the role of Garrett, a master thief who must sneak past guards,
avoid detection, and steal valuable items without getting caught. The game
features a unique light gem system, which allows players to see how visible they
are to enemies, and encourages players to stay in the shadows and use the
environment to their advantage. The game also features a wide variety of tools
and weapons that players can use to distract or incapacitate enemies, including
water arrows, flash bombs, and blackjacks.
The story of Thief 2 is set in a steampunk-inspired world where technology and
magic coexist. Players take on the role of Garrett, a master thief who becomes
embroiled in a conflict between two factions, the Mechanists and the Pagans. The
game features a rich and complex story that is told through in-game cutscenes,
environmental storytelling, and dialogue with NPCs. The game features a wide
variety of characters, each with their own motivations and agendas, and players
must navigate this complex web of politics and corruption to uncover the truth.
The graphics in Thief 2 are powered by the Dark engine, which was also used in
the original Thief game. The game features detailed environments, realistic
lighting and shadows, and dynamic weather effects. The game's art style is
heavily inspired by steampunk, and features a wide variety of mechanical and
clockwork-inspired objects and structures. The game's cutscenes are also
rendered in-engine, and feature highly detailed characters and animations.
Thief 2: The Metal Age was developed by Looking Glass Studios, a company known
for their innovative and critically acclaimed games. The game was led by Warren
Spector, who also directed the original Thief game. The game was released to
critical acclaim, and received numerous awards and accolades for its innovative
gameplay, story, and graphics. The game's success led to the development of a
sequel, Thief: Deadly Shadows, which was released in 2004.
Overall, Thief 2: The Metal Age is a classic stealth game that offers players a
unique and immersive experience. The game's emphasis on stealth gameplay, rich
story, and detailed graphics make it a must-play for fans of the genre. The
game's success also helped to pave the way for future stealth games, and it
remains a beloved and influential title in the gaming industry.
